Is MIS working harder or smarter?

I know that Management Information Systems (MIS) includes skills such as abstract reasoning, systems thinking, collaboration and the ability to experiment. These skills were with man from the very beginning of the human race. Take for instance the first man Adam was given Eve by God to be his helper, God knowing that Adam cannot do all his work by himself. Here Adam got help in different aspects of life, exchanging information and receiving feedback between God and his helpmate Eve. With experimentation, abstract reasoning and system thinking Eve was the first to eat of the forbidden fruit and Adam followed, the rest is history as we know from the Holy Bible. This little story and introduction was just to say that MIS was their before technology as we know today; computers ipads, smart phones, tablets and the list goes on. With the introduction of technology it has made what was hard work like Adam naming all the animals and recording into his memory or writing it down in a book, to easy recall of record of names of animals by using the internet and googling the name of an animal.
MIS has certainly made what was hard work easier and faster. To calculate some numbers there are MIS systems such as the calculater, to check the weather for tommorow, there is the internet, to contact a friend there is the smart phone. MIS is all around us in our everyday life and we sometimes do not realise it. The task of travelling long distances to communicate, to read over an entire paper to check for spelling errors and to manually check the amount of employees in an organization and the list goes on, are things of the past which has made hard work easier, by working smarter.
