The benefits of a database software

I had a meeting with a principal of a school to do some brainstorming to come up with ideas to deal with the delinquent students at the school. After much discussion I realize that most of the information on the students were recorded paper-based. There was not a computer database with with information on all the students. We discussed the importance of having a database on the students which would include information such as not only their personal information but data such as their achievements academically and their conduct. With a database software, information on a student can be access quickly to gather statistics, to determine remedial programs to deal with a particular weakness in students.
Also on the database there will be information not only on the students but there will be data like who are their teachers, parents and relatives and even a picture identification. Databases are useful almost anywhere, in a church, at home, at work and most importantly for the government in accessing information about a person. This can be used to fight crime or speed up any government transaction like going for your drivers permit. The government with a proper database on their citizens can issue traffic tickets to a person's mail or notify them when their driver's permit is about to expire, and definitely assist in gathering information for crime fighting purposes.
Some of these database software are Knack, MarkLogic, and AirTable which can be bought and used with tutorials.
